From Monday 4th February people looking for free debt advice in North Lanarkshire have more options.

The five Citizens Advice Bureaux in North Lanarkshire (Airdrie, Bellshill, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, Motherwell and Wishaw)  have joined together to launch a new Money Advice service, making it easier to access free, confidential debt advice online, by phone or in person. If you are concerned about managing your money or financial commitments you can access debt advice in a way that suits you, and easily transfer from one form of support to another as you need.

The Freephone helpline 0800 328 1131, open 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, is staffed by trained advisers who will do what they can to help callers over the phone. Appointments can be made in any of the five participating bureaux if these are necessary. There’s a link to range of self-help options on the bureau websites if you’re looking for information.

You can also call the  North Lanarkshire Council Financial Inclusion phone line on 01698 403170, 8.45 am to 4.45 pm, Monday to Thursday, 8.45 am to 4.15 pm on Friday, to arrange a free, confidential appointment with a council debt advisor.
